Golden Eagle men get set for taste of postseason action at scenic Arizona course Friday through Sunday.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After a strong showing in the Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championship, the Tennessee Tech men’s golf team will get another chance to show its skills as it has accepted the invitation to the fourth GOLFWEEK National Golf Invitational Championship. The tournament will be held May 21 through 24 at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Tennessee Tech dazzled in its match play semifinal against UT Martin on Wednesday at the Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championship at Birck Boilermaker Golf Club, but as the day wore on and the winds picked up, the Golden Eagles saw Little Rock take advantage on the back nine to take the tournament championship. The afternoon saw sustained winds at 15 to 20 miles per hour and gusts from 30 to 35 miles per hours, but despite the conditions, the Golden Eagles kept fighting. All of the pairings were within reach, but, at the end, the Trojans prevailed to earn the automatic bid to the NCAA event.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Tennessee Tech men’s golf team made a big jump up the leaderboard during the second round Monday, and held on Tuesday to finish in third place at the 2026 OVC Men's Golf Championships. With their finish, the Golden Eagles advance into match play Wednesday, where they will square off first against UT Martin beginning at 7:03 a.m. CDT. Tech will join Little Rock, UT Martin and Bryant in the head-to-head challenge on Wednesday on the Ackerman-Allen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on the campus of Purdue University. Winners of the morning matchups will meet in the afternoon with the winner capturing the league’s automatic invitation into the NCAA Tournament. “I’m so proud of these guys and how they battled back after the first day to make it into match play,” said head coach Polk Brown. “We have been working all year for this opportunity and we’re excited to compete for another championship.”
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Second round action at the 2026 OVC Men's Golf Championship was suspended due to weather before all 20 groups could finish. The OVC Championship is being played for the first time on the Ackerman-Allen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on the campus of Purdue University. The course is playing par 71 with yardage running 7,093 yards on Monday.
